The Amazing Tricycle Race

The most Amazing Race on wheels, The Amazing Tricycle Race, will take place on Sunday, 14 February 2010.This unique charity event promotes ‘going green’ transport as part of the global awareness campaign in aid of much needed funds for the Tygerberg Children’s Hospital. This is a perfect corporate team building event, an occasion for families, sports clubs or a bunch of friends to partake, whilst enjoying live entertainment, food stalls and children’s activities.

You will be required to enter a team of 3 people maximum per tricycle in one of three categories, mixed, female or male.  All participants will need to be older than 16 years of age. You can brand the tricycle as you would like to and you can either purchase the tricycle or rent. The race will take place around the Tyger Valley area, Bellville and will be 5km.  Each rider will have a turn to cycle and you will be changing riders after you have completed one of three ‘challenges’ on route to the finish line.  Each team will be timed and your departure time will be drawn on registration on the day of the event.

Entry fee into the venue as a spectator will be R50 for all adults above 18 years old, R20 for teenagers and all children under 12 go free.  We have sponsorship and branding opportunities around the event for companies who would like extra value.  All proceeds are donated to the Tygerberg Children’s Hospital of which Emeritus Archbishop Desmond Tutu is a patron.
